After a quick introduction of TM1 v12, just in case it’s still new to anybody, we’ll introduce the recent enhancements made in TM1 v12 (mostly notably what’s coming in v12.4), which includes things like JSON functions in TI, JSON data source support, Session variable, JWT functions, etc. as well as some exciting enhancements that are already being worked on in the lab and that are being envisioned to show up in the not too distinct future as well. If you weren’t convinced yet after this presentation, you’ll want to get your hands on v12 ASAP!

Migrating to TM1 v12, what’s stopping you? (Hubert Heijkers - IBM)

In this session we’ll go in a bit more details on what’s involved in migrating existing TM1 models to make them work with TM1 v12 running anywhere. We’ll do an actual migration of a model, discuss changes in the environment that play a role, changes to TI processes that’ll have to be made if one uses certain function, but also introduce some new functionality that makes managing these models much easier once migrated to v12. Once the migration is done, we’ll show the model running natively on a Windows host running TM1 v12 standalone as well as restoring the same database on a PAaaS on AWS instance running on Linux. And whilst we do this you can ask me anything related to the topic or v12 in general.

We’ll show and discuss a sample in which other services integrate with TM1 and TM1 with other services, and end-to-end example using a bunch of the new v12 capabilities will play the lead role in this session, showing you how session variables can be used to pass in session specific ‘secrets’, how we can integrate with secrets management service to maintain secrets needed to interact with other services, how our new JSON and JWT specific TI functions can be used to easily compose JSON request to make REST requests using the new ExecuteHttpRequest TI function, how TI can consume a JSON data as a data source in TI etc. etc. all the whilst you can ask the presenter anything you’d like to know about v12.
